Wednesday night programs over the next few weeks will focus on the stories of the great families of the Old Testament. Come to learn more about Abraham and Sarah, Isaac and Rebekah, Joseph and his brothers, and more. As part of this series, we’d like to hear your family stories too. If you can share something interesting about your family story (when your family first came to the U. S., or maybe the colonies, when your family settled in Bainbridge or anything else), please let Pastor Melissa know.
D-Now Volunteers Needed
D-Now, our community-wide youth retreat, is February 14-16. We need lots of volunteers from the congregation to make this a great experience for our youth. Friday night four hundred youth will gather to eat in the J. O. Smith Building. Ten to twelve volunteers are needed to serve. We also need several homes to host a group of youth overnight Friday and Saturday. We need drivers and small group leaders for Saturday’s activities and someone to coordinate breakfast for the youth on Sunday morning. Let Elizabeth Simmons or Pastor Melissa know if you will help.
District Day of Giving Back
On February 22, we will have the District-Wide Family Service Day at Vashti Center in Thomasville. It will begin with a gathering at 9:00 a.m. and end with a wrap-up at 2:00 p.m. In between, we will assemble benches and UMCOR Hygiene Kits, write letters to Military Service Members, and play Flag Football (for those inclined to the activity). Lunch will be provided. You are asked to RSVP by February 14 by calling the Church.

Holy Land Trip
Pastor Melissa is considering leading a trip to the Holy Land in January of 2021. The trip would be 10 days and cost approximately $3500/person. At least ten people are needed for the trip. A trip to the Holy Land powerfully changes how you understand the Bible. Some people call the geography of the land, “the fifth gospel.” If you consider going, please let Pastor Melissa know. If enough are interested, the exact dates and details will be available after the first of the year.
